Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer
Tasks
- Consult our customers with regards to processes, methods and tools in safety and security critical development projects
- Take technical responsibility that our E/E-development projects meet our customers’ expectations as well as our own quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for automotive systems and components.
- Perform analyses like HARA, TARA, FMEA, FTA etc. in compliance with relevant safety and security standards (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
- Develop safety- and security concepts and strategies for automotive electronic systems.
- Design and implement safety and security mechanisms, error detection, and error handling mechanisms in embedded software.
- Conduct verification and validation activities to ensure functional safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate safety requirements into the software development process.
- Create and maintain documentation related to functional safety, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics/Electrical, Computer Science Engineering.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in functional safety and embedded development within the automotive/railway industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards, such as ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434 and the processes needed to fulfil these
- First experience in process design and improvement
- Proficiency in safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, HARA, etc.) and safety-related documentation.
- Experience in developing safety concepts and strategies for electronic systems.
- Strong communication skills and a team player mentality
- Solid programming skills in C/C++ and familiarity with embedded software development.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with functional safety tools and methodologies (e.g., fault injection, safety analysis tools) is a plus.
- An understanding of hardware design considerations for safety-critical systems is desirable.
- First Embedded Linux OR Cybersecurity skills would be a big plus
- You can speak German and English fluently
